A GAP IN THE RAIN by Barbara Cumbers
Indigo Dreams Publishing ISBN 978-1-910834-01-5
Cumbers is an outstanding find, a poet of quality who looks at the world with an analytical eye, sees the processes that are occurring in the world around her.  She also brings insight from her career as a geologist and describes the natural world from that perspective.  Her grasp on the processes that form the world she sees informs aspects of her poetry in a unique and wonderful way.  What makes this understanding and insight of value is the way it is captured by a poet who writes in a well crafted and accessible style that invites her readers to see the world in a different way, and really that is something only very good poetry can do.
Outstanding poems –  Wet Through, Autumn Day in the Isotope Lab, Grand Canyon
