kenning - A compound word or phrase, (in OE this might involve many elements) creating a metaphorical epithet. As in "book-learning" for scholastic achievement.

King’s English (Queen’s English) - An imagined pure standard of English iin both spoken and grammatical structure. To an extent it was overtaken by BBC English in the mid 20th century, but has now been almost abandoned in its spoken form. Also the name of a book by Kingsley Amis, in which the author seeks to establish some guidelines to the English language.
