Derek Hughes

Kibworth Harcourt, Leicestershire, UK

I am a retired GP. I have been writing poetry regularly since I retired. I have had a number of poems published in recognised magazines including many in Blithe Spirit—British Haiku Society publication. Also other styles in other mags such as ‘Interpreters House’. I have been commended or placed in National/ International competitions a few times including a first in the Magma short poem competition last year. I should/am working towards a collection!

 April sunshine

 distant clouds

 one Swallow

a red kite tacks

in the treacherous wind

feathers catch sunlight

 the un-walked path

will stretch over meadows

till the cows come home
