Neil Leadbeater is an author, essayist, poet and critic living in Edinburgh, Scotland. His publications include Librettos for the Black Madonna (White Adder Press, 2011), The Loveliest Vein of Our Lives (Poetry Space, 2014), Finding the River Horse (Littoral Press, 2017) and Penn Fields (Littoral Press, 2019). Save the Last Dance for Me

 

I want you to save the last dance for me

so that we can take to the floor

in total abandon

and whip up a whirl-storm

at ninety miles an hour

no kidding

 

what a way to go.
