Written 1st April

The woman in the window

waves back as I jog past in gasps with thumbs up as I pause

and mouth are you alright? through the terraced glass;

a life in cardigans and creases as she laughs yes, are you?

Secretly I call her mum, stumble around my insides for love:

life benignly sits in its wisdom knowing it will run its rivers

as I hope she calls me son.
