Emily Pattullo Leigh, Auckland, New Zealand. Emily is a fiction writer who can’t help writing
poems too. She used to be a songwriter as well. She is originally from
the UK but moved to New Zealand with her family shortly before lockdown,
so experienced life in a new country from an unusual perspective. She
found writing poetry kept her spirits up during such a challenging time
and certainly has no regrets about moving to New Zealand! Date completed: 21.04.2020 Isolation. Go within to find the sea In the pulsing depths of your emotions, Find the calm and reside there. Go within to find the trees In the unyielding strength of your roots, Stand brave with purpose. Go within to find the flowers In the soft intimacy of a kind word, The grateful bow of your head. Go within to find the birds In the joy of existence, The resonance of your voice. Go within to find the sky A vast blank canvas on which to place your dreams.
