STAYING AT HOME

Is this Gaia’s revenge on humankind ?

Corona virus, or COVID – 19;

It wastes tired bodies, messes with the mind

And rarely has such misery been seen.

How will we fare amidst this new pandemic ?

We’re told to practise “social isolation”,

Observe the two metre rule, do not panic,

But keep in touch and have a conversation.

The Spring has come and Nature is at work :

The sun shines bright and blackbirds, gay, are singing.

Nightly, stars still shine. Gaia will not shirk,

While myriad flowers much joy are bringing.

In troubled times, maintaining contact is the key,

So phone a friend and don’t forget, we are still free.
