Moonscapes 2020

wolf moon howls

in winter

whispers wuhan

                        hungry bone moon

                        rattles covid’s name

                        on deaf ears

lock down

stark warnings

uttered by crow moon

                                 bluebells ring

                                 against dry stone walls

                                 hare moon listens

perfumed flower moon

hides numbers

muffled by masks

                          after heat wave rain

                          rose moon’s thorns

                          spike at solstice

thunder moon rolls

loosening locks

and space

               sturgeon moon blushes

               swims

               among water lilies

harvest moon

gathers

the out of work

                       hunter moon

                       hangs by a thread

                       over the hunted

with a broad tail

beaver moon taps

an alarm on water

                             cold moon

                             bites fingers

                             slaps faces
