Poetry Masterclass & Professional Development
An extended, individual programme for poets who want to develop their craft, strengthen their voice and make sustained progress with their writing.
An immersive programme
The Masterclass combines practical writing exercises, projects, critical discussion, reading and detailed personal feedback. The work is shaped by the needs and ambitions of each participant rather than following a completely fixed syllabus.
You will be encouraged to experiment with techniques, develop drafts and address areas of your writing that need further attention.
Course structure and outcomes
The programme comprises 40 lessons and 20 sessions, normally taking six months, with up to ten months allowed where needed. Weekly work includes writing tasks, challenges, reading and discussion.
The aim is to develop a substantial portfolio of completed poems alongside further work in progress, with greater confidence in editing, poetic technique and preparation for publication.
Who it is for
The programme is intended for committed poets with some writing experience, including those working towards publication, competitions, a pamphlet or a collection. Formal qualifications are not required.
